Gena G. Mcclendon, Ph.D
Gena G. McClendon, Ph.D. is a project director and adjunct professor at Washington University in St. Louis in the Brown School of Social Work at the Center for Social Development. She directs the Financial Capability and Asset Building Initiative and Voter Access and Engagement Initiatives and teaches a financial social work course. Dr. McClendon’s work focuses on the economic well-being of low-income households, marginalized populations and issues related to an inclusive democracy. Dr. McClendon earned a Ph.D. in Urban Higher Education from Jackson State University, a Master’s degree from Fontbonne University, and Bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
